Centaur Legacy Spotlight w Giveaway

OMG!!! I am extra excited today… I was so thrilled when Ms. Nancy sent me a copy of this book, that I totally had to BEG her to lemme do something fun! I really didn’t have to beg too hard as Ms Nancy is like the sweetest of the the sweets!! 🙂 She literally tells me yes for all the crazy things I ask her to do… Which brings me to my next part. I decided that this one would be about the fans. I (with Ms. Nancy’s OK) held a contest for anyone to ask question, either to Ms. Nancy or to ANY of her characters. So, I will do something a little different. I am going to post your questions here first, and then I’ll list my review, as I know you guys are DYING to get those answers. At the end, I’ll post the winner for the first part of the contest and I’ll list the new Giveaway!

Ms. Nancy, WELCOME!!! Thank you so much for doing this for all of us! I know I, and many fans, appreciate it soooo much!!

First off, thank you, Maghon, for helping me spread the word on the Touched Series. It means the world to me that you enjoyed it and are letting the world know. To everyone who submitted questions, they were AWEEE-SOME!! I hope you like the answers!

Who would you cast if your books were made into movies? (asked by BN11)
Would you believe if I were casting my books into movies, it would be with actors you’ve never heard of? Heck, they’d be people I have never heard of either! What? Sound Crazy? I’m not very familiar with how the film industry works, but because I’m an independent author, I have an enormous respect for people like myself in all industries. I know I wouldn’t want anyone famous playing one of my characters, I would want the guy who has gone to thirty or more casting calls and never been selected for a part. Or the girl you see at the checkout line in the supermarket who makes the room light up with her smile. Yeah, I know it’s a pipe dream, but so far, no Hollywood producers have called.

I actually think that’s pretty cool, but just make sure they are HAWT dudes hahahaha 🙂

Do you have a specific number of books planned for the Touched Series and if so how many? (asked by Brenda Sparks)
This was an easy one – Yes!! Five are planned, that might seem like a lot, but the answer to the next question will tell you why. SHHHH – it’s kind of a secret, I’ve not told anyone before today!

Have you ever considered a spin-off series for any of Camille’s brothers? I know Beau is featured more heavily in Centaur Legacy, but I love all the brothers so much (can you tell I’ve always wanted a big brother – or five?) (asked by Catherine T. )
Rather than a spin-off, the five brothers each get a parallel story with Cami and Drake throughout the series. Bruce is the brother who got jipped because I reduced his story in Blood Debt to make room for all the things going on with Cami and Drake. Each book in this series will focus on one of the brothers. Centaur Legacy was Beau. (I loved Beau and Lacey’s story!) Book 3 is Brent, Book 4 is Ben and Book 5 is Bart. Cami and Drake’s story unfolds throughout the Touched series, but with it, each of the books will follow one of the brothers as they struggle with their Centaur Heritage and whether they’ll carry on their bloodline.

I also think this is a ridiculously fascinating idea! It’s different which makes me love it even more!

Will you be at UtopYA this summer?  (asked by Charlotte Abel)
That’s a BIG, FAT, YES!! I’m over-the-moon excited. There are so many people I’ve met on-line that I CANNOT wait to meet in person!

*sigh* one day I will get to go there!

Not that I need to add any more books to my TBR list, but. . . Which books do you love? Who are your favorite authors? (asked by Jean)
Amy Bartol’s Premonition Series, Shannon Dermott’s Campion Series, Charlotte Abel’s Channie Series, KA Tucker’s Ten Tiny Breaths, Shelly Crane’s Significance Series, Abbi Glines’ Existence Series, Heather Self’s Portal Series, Nicole Chase’s Mortal Obligation, Christie Rich’s Elemental Emnity Series, and Tiffany King’s Saving the Angels Series. Is that too many? If I have unlimited space I could fill the page. *Questioning look* Okay, Maghon says top ten for today. Now – my favorite authors – I totally love each of the ten ladies above so add those ten to these ten: CA Kunz, Lila Felix, Paulina Ulrich, Airicka Phoenix, Georgia Cates, Michelle Leighton, Michelle Muto, Rebecca Rynecki, Brenda Sparks, and Alyssa Rose Ivy. Hopefully I’ve just added a ton of books to your TBR!!!

HAHAHAHA!! That’s a totally awesome list, and I must say that a WHOLE lota those are my serious faves!!

For Camille – since finding out what you are, how do you feel about it? Would you give it up and go back to being normal? (by Me)
Let’s just say some of the Centaur traditions seem archaic to me. I’m not a fan of anyone telling me I can or can’t do something. I was raised to be independent, to think for myself, so going with the flow is a problem for me. But . . . if I were to give it all up and go back to being normal – I know I couldn’t give up Drake, so somehow, I’m going to have to figure out how to embrace being a Centauride.

Yeah I wouldn’t give up Drake either 🙂

For Beau, Brent, Bart, Bruce, and Ben Do you think you could ever give up a centaur mate and just go for me? Hahaha come on, I could be a really special supernatural being with magical powers. (by me)
Bruce – I’ve already got, Hannah. But, for the record, you are a knockout!
Beau – Lacey doesn’t let me date. She’s my wife now, but, yeah, I could totally see myself chasing you, Maghon.
Brent – Uh, how could I carry on my family’s bloodline if you’re human? I have responsibilities, I can’t fraternize with humans.
Ben – Oh, give it a rest Brent! Bruce and Beau have the Strayer bloodline covered. The three of us can do anything we want. Live a little.
Bart – *shyly slips a scrap of paper to Maghon*
Ben – *rolls eyes at Bart* Okay, Bart, she’s not going to give you a chance if you’re too shy to speak.
Maghon – *Unfolds the paper from Bart*
Bart – *wags eyebrows at Maghon but remains silent*.
Ben – Okay, Maghon, looks like you’ve got two stalkers out of the five. How you like those odds?

*fist pumps and woots* Well, *clears throat* I think I’m in an excellent position  now!!! Boys, welcome to South Louisiana and you should hold on to something, cuz it’s gunna be a crazy ride! 🙂

When you started this series, why did you pick centaurs? (by me)
I know, I know, it’s not a typical paranormal creature. Don’t get me wrong, I L-O-V-E: vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, demons, angels, and every other paranormal creature out there. But the Touched Series is so different from every other Paranormal Romance Series I’ve seen that I wanted it to have a very unique paranormal / mythological character. I’ve only seen Centaurs in the Percy Jackson and Harry Potter Series and they were tertiary characters in both. I thought it would be fun to use a whole new type of paranormal being – Centaurs are something most of us have heard of, but very few stories use them as main characters.

If I said I loved it more because you picked Centaurs, would you think me biased? I actually really wanted to read something unique and you so nailed it!!

Think you might ever gimme a werewolf book? I’ll seriously love you! (by me)
Maghon, there isn’t much in this world I wouldn’t do for you! I’ll put that on my list for 2014! I’m envious of authors who are able to work on multiple series simultaneously. I’m not one of them. I won’t start a new project until the final book in the Touched Series releases.

YAY!!!!!!!!! It’s ok, I can wait a long time if it’s coming from you 🙂

And tell me something about you that has nothing to do with writing but you love about yourself. . . Minus major secrets of course! (by me)
Hmm, something I love about myself. When people ask me to describe myself, this is normally what I tell them: I LOVE Starbucks’ White Mocha Latte and Mountain Dew, (but not together). I have a lead foot so I set cruise control when I drive, even in 25 MPH zones. I almost never win when I play Angry Birds, but have my 8 year old close, so he can clear the hard levels for me. I grew up on a farm and am opposed to eating fresh chicken (not opposed to meat – just opposed to any meat that was alive a few hours before lunch). I am a huge fan of the show, Big Bang Theory, on CBS. I have a stray cat that I feed every night and morning but she’s never let me get closer than within 3 feet of her – I keep thinking eventually I’ll wear her down and she’ll let me pet her. I share my life with two fantastic sons, three rotten dogs and a husband that I adore.

I LOVE starbucks too, but I get a Caramel Vanilla skinny latte (cuz I don’t like milk) and it’s AWESOME! and I am kinda a crazy person with Dr. Pepper 🙂 I also grew up on a farm, and still live there, so we could almost be sisters LOL oh and I LOVE Big Bang!! and you are so cool to help animals 🙂

And did you ever think you’d become so huge a famous as an author – and don’t say no because I know you have lots of love! (by me)
*Rolls eyes* I’m not huge, or famous!! I’ve had waaaaaaaay more success than I ever dreamed I would achieve in such a short period of time, but I’m nobody special. I still remember the first month that I sold five books – I was amazed! Huge is a matter of perspective. The VERY best part about being an author, successful or not, is the amazing people who take the time to send a message, email, tweet, offer to write special blog posts *clears throat*( MAGHON!!) Kind words from a reader is the fuel that keeps me writing into the wee hours of the night no matter what my book rankings are.

I knew you were gunna say no!!! and you are very special, at least to me and your fans! and I will always offer to steal you away to my blog!! because Ms. Nancy you are the coolest kid around!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for those wonderful answers! I hope we can do it again one day because I have some seriously spoilery questions to ask! HA! 🙂

Centaur Legacy (Touched #2)

**Ms Nancy put this book on sale for $0.99 until January 15!!**

Blurb:

Camille and Drake are on the run from the head of the Centaur Council, seeking the mythical pasture of Thessaly and a family heirloom that may keep them safe. As their journey progresses from the rolling hills of Ireland to the snow covered forests of South Dakota, Cami learns more about her mother’s secrets, including a twin brother and a Centaur legacy that puts a death warrant on her entire family.

Camille and Drake don’t know who to trust or where to hide. Camille’s family is quick to come to her aid, but who among them can be trusted?

A supernatural benefactor forces Drake to choose between being the man he wants to be and the Centaur warrior Camille needs him to be.

My Review:

WOW!!! Ms Nancy has blown me away again!! There is so much going on as this wonderful story continues! It’s a beautiful, yet slightly darker story than book one. Poor Camille, it seems like everyone just wants something from her… And all of those “something’s” are pretty much lethal to her. I mean, this is crazy the amount of hardships this poor girl has to go to. And yet, she’s my hero!! She’s beautiful and strong, and smart, and when most people would give up she sticks to her guns!

Lets tall plot for a moment! What a wonderful way this story is unfolding! And the action has definitely been amped up! Major high five to that 🙂 this is a great way to take an easy story and make it into a web of complexity that you’re dying to know how to untangle yourself from. There is a lovely set of characters that have you falling in love with them or seriously wanting to murder a fictional character. Each one of them has me completely invested in wanting to know how each one’s life will play out!

I wanna talk about Drake for a second. In book one, Camille got a whole lot of the bad, and she has even more in this one, but man… Drake got some serious tests in this book. And with his new “self” I’m dying to know where Ms Nancy is going to take me with this one! And Beau is I think my favorite brother, at least so far. He is so much more laid back than everyone else and I’m so glad he got the ending he got! I literally did fist pumps and cheered 🙂 it’s so so cute!!! But I kinda want to majorly punch Cami’s dad Will… If their rules are so hell bent on protecting the Centurides, why is it that every time Cami’s in trouble, he pretty much sits on his thumbs! Grow a pair daddy!! Sorry I had to get that out 🙂

The writing is elegantly magnificent! This serious has touched my heart and it’s all because Ms Nancy is a wonderful writer! There’s so many captivating scenes, especially with all the traveling. And it’s hard to write multiple POVs that make sense but it’s flawless here. I’m actually liking all the differences. It gives you so much insight to the story line that you don’t get with only one POV. All in all, there isn’t much more to say except I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! 5 TOTALLY HOT PAWS!! I really need book 3, and hopefully I won’t have to wait too long!

Playlist:

Angel: Javier Colon (cover)- This song is just so beautiful and though it may be a little over used, it’s still so sweet, but I happen to like this cover.

Anywhere Place: Katie Costello- so, when Cami tells Drake that her home is wherever he is, I think this song describes that 🙂

Are We All We Are: P!nk- So, you see so much more of the Centaur politics, and Cami embracing her new found heritage, and Drake learning a few new things as well, so here’s my thought on that.

Beautiful Day: Chris Cagle- yeah I’m throwing a country song in the mix, but this song is so perfect, because Drake says he’s loved Cami since he touched her, and I like the way this song goes 🙂

Taylor Swift: Enchanted- I so should have used this song for book one, BUT I can use it here too, because it’s not just for Drake and Cami but for Lacey and Beau too 🙂

Every Time You Go: 3 Doors Down (acoustic version) – Well let’s just say some people get separated a few times and this is my interpretation of it. 🙂

Heartbeat: The Fray- I will try not to say too much, but Cami uses Drake’s heartbeat to find him, so….. 🙂

How Come You’re Not Here: P!nk- I think Daniel feels this way for Cami when Drake “is away”…

I’ll Follow You: Shinedown- yes I know I have used this song before, but hot damn if at the end of this book, this is so Drake’s song for Cami’s choices 🙂

Jar of Hearts: Christina Perry- so here’s for all my Centaur bad guys and girls who dare care who they hurt in their madness…

Midnight Ferry- Kid Rock- with all of the traveling, sometimes it gets hard, and since I happen to love this dude, he so makes this song perfect 🙂

We Found Love: Rihanna- I think we’ve found love 🙂

Tangled Up In You: Staind- I believe this is my theme song 🙂

I'm so happy there'll be more of the brothers <3…I have to say I'm partial to Brent even though I'm not a Centauride and therefore have zero chance with him but I digress! I'm over the freaking moon that he's going to be in #3!!! Is it too late to change any love-interests for him to Catherine ;D?
