The Devil’s Kiss Tour
Ultimatum
(The Devil’s Kiss #1)
Kayla Sutton faces a question no mother wants to face: what would you do to save your daughter? Broke and desperate, she siphons thousands from the company she works for in order to pay for her daughter’s experimental life-saving treatment. But when Gage Channing discovers her theft, she is shocked to learn that her domineering boss has no intention of turning her over to the police. Instead he issues an ultimatum—submit to him, or go to jail.
Backed into a corner, Kayla signs his contract and spends her first weekend at his home, at his mercy, and is stunned when he awakens the desire she’d believed long dead.

Excerpt:
The room was rectangular, dark and windowless, with deep crimson walls that matched the comforter on the king-sized bed; Gage had already laid several items on the end. A rack of cuffs, chains, whips, paddles, and God only knew what else hung on the far wall. An odd-looking bench sat in front of the display. Not certain what the X on the wall, the hooks in the floor and ceiling, or the plethora of items on the shelves were used for, I tore my gaze from the terrifying sight. A group of comfy chairs and a couch were arranged on a throw rug at the opposite end. Across from the bed a swanky bathroom, outfitted with a whirlpool tub and separate shower, could be seen through an archway.
Gage fisted my hair and yanked me against him. “These are my rules. Remember them.” He trailed a hand down my throat, and his fingers settled on the buttons of my blouse. “Number one, don’t fight me. If you do you’ll be punished.” He slowly unfastened each one, taking the time to brush his fingers against my skin. “Two, unless I’ve given you permission to speak freely, always call me Master when we’re alone.” He slid his hand inside and palmed my breast. “And three, obey without hesitation. Do you understand these rules?”
“I-I understand.” I forced the words past my quivering lips.
He let out a low chuckle. “I don’t think you do. I think it’s time for your first punishment.” He gripped my hair even tighter. “Before we go any further, you need to choose a safe word.”
“And if I say this word . . . you’ll stop?”
“Yes. And then I’ll turn you over to the authorities. Neither of us wants that.”
“Then what’s the point in choosing a safe word? You know I won’t use it.”
“Because what happens here will be on my terms, but ultimately your choice. I won’t move forward without it, so choose wisely, something you won’t forget or accidentally say.” He withdrew his hand from my breast and put a few inches between us. “It’s the only word that will save you from your punishment. Screaming, crying, begging me to stop . . . none of those tactics will work.”
“You sick bastard.”
“You might consider showing me some respect—I’m the only person standing between you and a jail cell.”
Enslaved
(The Devil’s Kiss #2)
Freedom is but an illusion . . .
Kayla Sutton finds out the hard way that Gage Channing’s dominance doesn’t end once she leaves the confines of his basement. His rules dictate her days and nights, his watchful eye keeps her in line at work, and the memories of her weekend with him, spent under his absolute control and his firm hand, keeps her on her toes. Having been blackmailed into submitting to him, Kayla doesn’t fully understand what it means to relinquish control of her body and free will, and she doesn’t understand how a man who derives pleasure in whipping and humiliating her is capable of awakening the desire she hadn’t known existed.
As her daughter’s life hangs in the balance, Kayla must dig deep to find the strength to fully submit, to travel down the path of pain and pleasure. But when her past catches up to her, prompting a free fall into forbidden territory with a man she once fiercely loved, she knows her only recourse is to come clean about her transgression to her Master and beg his forgiveness . . . only she never imagined he’d have such a horrifying punishment awaiting her, or that his jealousy would send her life into a further tailspin.
Approximately 19,000 words.

Excerpt:
Gage wasted no time in reclaiming the hot, damp place between my legs. He stroked me relentlessly, and not even the decadent cake had the power to distract me. By the time he pulled me into his arms on the dance floor, I’d downed four more glasses of champagne and was more than a little tipsy. Bodies flush, our champagne breaths mingling, I melted against him and let him pull me into the sway. Something shifted within me during that dance. For the first time, I returned his touch. Sliding my hands into his hair, I curled my fingers into the dark strands as he swept me across the room. I didn’t care if everyone was watching, if what I was doing and feeling was wrong.
And it was so wrong. Nothing about this situation should feel romanticized, but I was lost and never wanted to be found.
He tightened his arms around me, pulling me close enough that his hard-on strained against my stomach. “Wanna get out of here?”
Our faces were inches apart, and for a moment I thought he was going to kiss me in front of everyone. “Yeah.”
We left in a flurry of goodbyes, and the only thing more dizzying than my champagne-induced state was the commotion of grabbing our coats. The drive back to Gage’s place was but a fuzzy memory. We stumbled through the front door, his mouth hot and wet on my throat as my thighs locked around his waist. My hands gripped his hair as he carried me through the house. Maybe later I’d question why he took me to his bedroom instead of the basement, or why he seemed so un-Gage like as he ripped the bodice of my dress in an impatient fit of desire. The material tore to my waist, exposing my clamped breasts. He yanked on the chain, propelling me toward him and the bed, and his mouth closed over an aching nipple. We shed our clothing and tumbled onto the mattress, where he wrapped my fingers around the bars of the headboard.
“Don’t let go.” His breath fanned across my face an instant before he blinded me with a silk tie.
Retribution
(The Devil’s Kiss #3)
Kayla Sutton thinks it’s over. She now holds the leverage she believes will end her contract with her blackmailer, but Gage Channing isn’t going down without a fight. He’s turned the tables on her, cleverly making her submit under the guise of giving her a choice, and Kayla soon discovers that retribution isn’t so black and white when everyone around her has secrets.
She faced sexual servitude in Ultimatum. In Enslaved she was seduced into craving it. Now she must find the strength to either accept the part of her that craves him still, or walk away for good . . .
Approximately 21,000 words.

Excerpt:
“Straddle me,” he demanded, pulling me onto his lap and denying me the chance to object. He slid his hands under my dress and grabbed my ass, bringing me against his erection. My reaction was instantaneous. A flood of warmth crashed at my center, and I struggled to catch my breath through lips that parted of their own volition. His hands kneaded my bottom. “You feel that?” Awareness zinged between us as he watched me. “We connect here, Kayla.”
“It’s just sex.” My voice sounded weak, and I despised myself for it, especially since my body rocked against his.
“No, you’re not the type of woman who engages in ‘just sex’ arrangements.” He brought his hands up and spanned my ribcage. “The fact that you’re sitting here hot for my cock after everything I’ve done”—he circled my nipples with his thumbs—“turning to liquid at my touch, gives you away. You can have ‘just sex’ with anyone. There’s more here between us.”
I couldn’t look at him anymore. I closed my eyes, but I still felt his hands on me, still felt him hard and hot underneath me.
“I could fuck you right now, and you’d still beg for more.” He grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me in. “You’re just as addicted to me as I am you.” Pressing his mouth to mine, his tongue swept inside, and I wondered what he was waiting for.
“Do it, Gage.” I moaned against his lips. Later I’d beat myself up for this. Later I’d walk away.
“No. Just because you’re not my slave anymore, that doesn’t mean you call the shots.” He palmed my ass and squeezed hard. “And I’m still Master to you in the bedroom.”
Author Interview:
WELCOME!! First, tell me a little about your book and why you wanted to write this particular story….
I guess I’ve always been attracted to dark themes and suspense. I never entertained the notion of writing erotica until this idea came to me, and once it did I had to follow it. I still don’t have a full grasp of the BDSM lifestyle, but I do know that the Devil’s Kiss Trilogy doesn’t portray an accurate picture—it’s more fiction than reality, which is what I think a lot of books in the dark erotica genre are. When it comes to dubious consent, I think the stakes have to be high in order for a woman to make the kind of decision Kayla did. Kayla is in an impossible situation, and as a parent I understand the primal instinct to protect your child no matter what. That theme alone drew me into the idea. It’s the illusion of her having a choice, though in reality she doesn’t have a choice at all, that was so alluring to me as a writer.
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know?
The idea of writing came on very suddenly. I was addicted to the Sweet Valley High series when I was thirteen, and about a year later it dawned on me that I could write about my own characters. My mom and I were homeless at the time, and I discovered my love for reading as a means of escape. It was a trying time for sure, but I don’t think I’d ever take those two years back because I’m not sure I would have figured out that I was meant to write otherwise. I might have eventually, but I discovered a real passion during a time when I needed it most.
What inspired you to write your first book and what was it?
Technically, my first “book” was a short story inspired from reading a lot of YA novels (I wrote it when I was fourteen), but I got serious about writing in 2008 when I completed 50,000 words in National Novel Writing Month. Those 50,000 words became the blueprint for my first major novel (which will be published in July under a different pen name). I can’t say exactly what inspired me to start any of my writing projects; they all just began with an idea. I’m a daydreamer, so I blame that.
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
The erotica I’ve written so far is based entirely on fantasy. Most of my work is just imagination, though I’m sure little pieces of myself have worked their way in. I think all authors draw from real life in a lot of ways, but for me it might be more subconscious.
How do you choose when/which characters die in your books?
It depends on the story, I guess. In the novel I’m still working on, I had to face a difficult decision about killing off a character, but I felt it worked better for the plot so I killed her, even though part of me didn’t want to. There usually comes a point though when I’m ready to kill off every last character and be done with it. I reached this point while writing Enslaved and Retribution.
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
Well, I’m still pretty new myself, but I have found several authors whose books I loved in the last year: Tracey Garvis Graves, Kitty Thomas, and Tammara Webber, to name a few. More recently I read a book by Michelle A. Valentine that I really liked.
Who do you look up to as a writer?
All the authors mentioned above, and I’ve also drawn a lot of inspiration from years of reading Sandra Brown.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your book?
Yes. I’d kill off all the characters. LOL, just kidding. If I could start over, I’d tweak certain aspects of the plot—issues that really gave me a headache for the final book. Writing these books the way I did—publishing one at a time and trusting my seat-of-the-pants tendencies was a bit of an experiment, and though it taught me a lesson on meeting deadlines, I do prefer to have the whole story done before releasing it.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
My OCD need to constantly edit as I write. It would be so much easier (and faster) if I was capable of getting that first draft out and then edit. The closest I’ve gotten to doing this was during NaNoWriMo when the point was to write quantity over quality, and it’s an issue I’m still working on.
What book are you reading now? Or what genre? My followers love author’s opinions!
I’m in between books right now. I just finished Kitty Thomas’ Mafia Captive a while back (couldn’t put it down—was up all night reading it). Now I’m gawking at Rock With Me by Kristen Proby. I haven’t read any of her work, but some of the reviews I’ve seen are intriguing. I also want to read Unbeautifully Loved by Emma Grayson. The biggest problem I have with reading is finding the time to do it, plus I’ve become a ridiculously picky reader. I don’t have the patience that I used to, so if the first couple of pages don’t grab me, I usually close it and never open the book again. I used to read a lot more before I put so much time and effort into writing.
Who designed the cover? And do you help with them?
I design all of my covers.
Did you learn anything from writing your books and what was it?
I learned that I’m capable of meeting a deadline. I’ve never been good at working under pressure, and it was something I wanted to work on.
If you could be one of your characters, who would you chose?
Honestly, I don’t think I’d want to be any of my characters because I put them all through hell!
Are there any books you think some of us should read, just because?
The Twilight Saga! There’s so much criticism about these books, but I’ve got to be honest: I loved them, and I loved the movies and the music (the soundtracks and the scores). Despite what anyone thinks of the writing or the themes, etc . . . I think the central story is really good. It’s imaginative. I did see the first movie before I’d ever heard of the books, and everything from the scenery to the music to the love story captured me. It was pure magic.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
I want to thank them for reading the Devil’s Kiss Trilogy! The response has been mind-blowing. I’ve gotten so many requests for a continuation that I’m now planning to write one. I can’t say when or even how long it’ll be, but it will be a free story—my way of saying thank-you to the people who read the Devil’s Kiss Trilogy and loved it enough to spread the word.
Thank you SOOO much for stopping by today! I had a blast

*My review is to come, as I forgot to download the ARC before the deadline again… I seem to have done that alot in the month of April… Moving in makes you crazy
So I will get a review to you guys soon!*
About the Author:
Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario – St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.
The youngest of six — four older brothers, and a sister – taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.
At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada’s JR High Jump record (1.92m – 6′ 3 1/2″ for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University – winning CIAU’s and becoming All-American 6x – NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.
But you’re not interested in her athletic career – unless of course you’re curious to know she stands 1.70m (5’7″) and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She’s represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read – her favourite past time.
Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.
Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables – particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business’ website:www.wadeincanada.com ).
After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she’d loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.
Her first book, Rae of Hope – from the Chronicles of Kerrigan – will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.
She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.
So I hope you guys check this one out! If you are interested in more books from this author, I did blog stops HERE and HERE because I did a post for each book

Demon crypts. Vampire lairs. Glowing angels. Sexy sirens. The stuff of fiction.
Or so Winn Thomas always thought.
Since being accepted into the fold of the supernatural, he knows better. None of what he imagined is true, but everything he feared is, and binding himself to his Changeling girlfriend until her nineteenth birthday will give him an education far beyond what he’d get at his human high school.
Luckily, Winn’s not giving up, he won’t back down, and he definitely isn’t going to run away with his tail between his legs. After all, only werewolves have tails. Right?
In this, the second of the 19th Year trilogy, Winn’s facing the challenge of one lifetime. If he doesn’t learn the truth about mythological creatures, his girlfriend Mac Thorne won’t either. That means, in six months, when she chooses her final form, she won’t know what to pick.
Winn, though, has his own ideas about Mac’s final selection—plans she knows nothing of.
He intends to have her pick human.
Whether she can or not.

Sitting in front of the twelve most powerful non-humans on the earth would have shaken a lesser guy. In my case, I’d almost thrown up. Twice.
‘Don’t worry,’ Mackenzie Thorne, my girlfriend, had said. ’‘It’s just a formality.
She hadn’t known I’d have to go alone.
Only the intake and exhalation of air in the room made any sound. Eerie light flickered from the tips of candles mounted along dark, oak-paneled walls.
I refused to look anywhere but ahead of me. To the long, wooden, medieval-length table.
Waiting.
Watching.
Holding my own breath.
For a moment, it seemed the walls began to close in on me.
At almost midnight on the first day of the year, I prepared to accept a fate no other human had ever taken on, been given or even offered. In response, sweat pooled under my armpits as alternating cold and hot ran through me.
The scratch of wood against wood had heads turning. Mine included.
Nahir, the oldest of the twelve, rose from his chair. “Winford Richmond Thomas, please rise.” His voice had a gravelly, hoarse sound.
I did as requested, my knees pressing against each other.
Nahir moved closer to me, his grandfatherly, human form disappearing under protruding scales of deep green. His arms lengthened into dinosaur-like paws and hit the rock floor, making the room around us shake. Thick wings extended from his body, and a tail lashed out against the wall behind him, rattling the candles.
A dragon, in the color of tropical ocean water, stood before me, huffing air from horse-sized nostrils.
Oh. God. I’m going to die.
Not going to die. It’s part of the test. Remember, you have to see them all. Mac’s words flowed through my mind.
Keep breathing.
“Master Thomas.” Josie, a siren and one of the most beautiful women I’d ever met, rose, her long flowing gown matching the color of her reddish-gold hair. I couldn’t help but stare at her. “You’ve been asked by our current changeling, Miss Maya Mackenzie Thorne, to be her teacher. Have you willingly agreed to take on this duty?” As Josie talked, she stalked forward, shimmering, shifting, the already-pretty woman becoming deadly man-hunting female—according to the legends I’d read.
Vibes ebbed from her like the rocking tide. If she sang, throwing up would be the least of my worries. I’d be dead by sexual self-implosion.
With a rough cough, I gathered my wits. “Yes. I have accepted. Willingly.” Every nerve ending in my body urged me to go to Josie, to let her take me and do with me whatever she wanted. A groan built in my throat, tension straining my limbs, most particularly, my crotch. Not now! The need to shift what grew sent heat to my cheeks even as Mac’s words played through again. Force yourself not to react to any of them. They’ll think you’re stronger than you are since you’re only human.
Only human. Problem number one.

Author Interview:
First, WELCOME!! Now, tell me a little about your book and why you wanted to write this particular story….
I came up with the story a couple years ago about a girl who had to choose her ‘profession’ and it had to be one and she’d be stuck as ‘that’ for the rest of her life. And she has to choose by her 19th birthday. Day After is a continuation of the trilogy, from the boyfriend’s perspective. I like switching it up, so it made it fun to get into Winn’s head.
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know?
I was bored one day. Yup. There is it. No long standing, thinking about being a writer all my life. I was just bored and did it and tada, I love it!
HA! How fantastic! What inspired you to write your first book and what was it?
My first book will never see the light of day. It’s a book that’s about a photographer (which I was at the time) who can see the future and past through her camera lens. Cheesy, I know!
I actually think it sounds cool! Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
There’s always a basis in reality in some stuff, but I do try to mix it up and make all experiences new, just use the past and the present and maybe the future as the foundation.
How do you chose when/which characters die in your books?
That comes based on the story itself. I never go in intending to kill someone off.
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
I love J.A. Belfield’s work.
I do believe we all do
Who do you look up to as a writer?
Anyone who goes after their dream. Yup.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your book?
Not a bit. I love the book the way it is.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Finding time. I work full time, have three kids, am a photographer … you see? So much stuff! I have to make time. When I do, I can kick out tons of words.
Holy…. WOW you are my new hero
What book are you reading now? Or what genre? My followers love author’s opinions!
I love paranormal. It‘s just my favorite and luckily for me, my current read is an ARC of Caged by J.A. Belfield!
Are you loving it as much as me?! Wait, did you read my Ethan interview that made us all giggle? Who designed the cover? And do you help with them?
My publisher designs everything and oh yes, I help. Sometimes, it’s all in the details and really, only an author knows all the details.
Did you learn anything from writing your books and what was it?
I learn how to have fun in my head. LOL
If you could be one of your characters, who would you chose?
I’d be Charley Randall from my alter-ego’s book Little White Lies.
OH! You have an alter-ego, I will need to look into this! Are there any books you think some of us should read, just because?
Like werewolves? Get J.A. Belfield’s series!
Hold up, did she pay you to promote her? HA You know I love you J!
And I do totally agree. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Yes … two words … THANK YOU!
My reply to that is NO THANK YOU!!! You’ve given me a whole new series to salivate over, and a new author that is fantastic to stalk!!!
Giveaway:
ok kids, there’s a fantastic giveaway going on HERE! Seriously, when you see all that’s offered you’ll thank me!
*My Review-sadly I am sometimes a true blond (really I am) and I totally lose focus… Like the fact that I flipping get ARC’s and then forget to download them before their two week expiration date. LOL SO… since I bought book one, and I am on my way to getting another of book two, I will be having another post soon to help promote and for me to just GUSH about how fantastic this series is! Plus, I may have to offer my own personal giveaway since I need to show some “pay it forward” to J Taylor and Ms Emi!!

1816 Candles Cover Reveal
Today I have a lovely cover to reveal and a story to tell you about! So let me just jump on in and show you
Title: 1816 Candles
Author: Amanda Brice
Genre: Time Travel Romance
Age Group: Young Adult
Cover Designer: Keith Draws
Expected release date: September 2013
Cover reveal organized by: AToMR Tours
High school senior Lauren is attending a costume ball at Old Town Alexandria’s famous Gadsby’s Tavern. But when she gets bored by the repetitious historical dances, she goes off to explore in the building and something odd catches her eye.
Is it a woman?
When Lauren follows the mysterious person and picks up a snow globe in the room she’s led to, she somehow ends up in 1816, experiencing the actual events of the “Legend of the Female Stranger” she’s heard her whole life growing up. Now Lauren has to solve the mystery of this ghost, find her way back home…and deal with her own emotions when she falls in love with a guy who lived 200 years before her.
As a little girl, Amanda Brice dreamed of being either a ballerina or the author of a mystery series featuring a cool crime-solving chick named Nancy Flew, but her father urged her to “do something practical,” so she went to law school and spent her days writing briefs and pleadings instead of fiction.
But dance and writing have remained a part of her life. Amanda was a member of the ballroom dance team at Duke University, and continues this interest by her obsession with Dancing with the Stars, so it was only natural for her to set a teen mystery series at a dance school.
Amanda is the President of Washington Romance Writers, and is a two-time finalist for Romance Writers of America’s prestigious Golden Heart® Award. She blogs once a month or so with the Ruby-Slippered Sisterhood. She is also a popular conference presenter, speaking on basic copyright and trademark law for writers.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys dancing, reading, cooking, traveling, and obsessing over whether Duke will beat Carolina in basketball. Go Devils!
So, do you like it? I think it’s really cool. It’s got the comic feel to it, but it looks real. I like the bright colors too
Let me know what you guys think! Happy reading and later gators!

Call of the Jersey Devil
by Aurelio Voltaire
978-1-939392-00-8
Release Date: May 28, 2013
Five suburban mall rats and a washed up Goth singer find themselves stranded in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey where they discover two horrifying truths: The Jersey Devil, hellspawn of folklore and legend, is real; and New Jersey (as many already suspected) is the gateway to Hell.
With the help of one lone witch, this small group must face off against their deepest fears and the most unholy monsters in a battle where their very souls, the world they live in, and any chance of returning to Hot Topic in one piece is at stake.
The first novel by musician and horror media personality, Aurelio Voltaire, Call of the Jersey Devil is a hilarious and terrifying homage to 80s horror and genre films. Like a mad doctor, Voltaire has Frankensteined together elements of Evil Dead, The Breakfast Club, Poltergeist, and This is Spinal Tap to create a creature feature that will have you laughing out loud when you’re not glancing nervously over your shoulder.

My Review:
I am going to start with this… Ms Susannah, how the hell do you come up with your bad guys!! I mean seriously! This one pretty much tops the scariest one you’ve written so far- and you know I stalk you and all your books!! Ok, back to the review. This one is quite the interesting story. I think my favorite part is the fact that there is a lonely human surrounded by all kinds of shifters. This is really competing for one of my favorites written by this author! I also think I have a new book boyfriend… which I will now have to explain to Jake and Will
HA!
The two main characters are Kell and Mori. I’ll go with Kell first. Jack Kellison is an elite Ranger veteran. He’s been on tours to the “Sand Box” and lead teams on special missions. So, when he gets the chance to lead a “special” elite team, along with his best friends from his former team, and not be put on desk duty after a serious injury, he jumps at the chance. Except… he so did not bargain for everything that came with this mission, especially Mori!
Mori is a head of an environmental activist group. All of a sudden her life is turned upside down when someone implicates her as a terrorist and bomber and kidnapper. It’s crazy the things this poor girl has to go through. She has the absolute WORST family in the world. I would love a chance of some alone time with them
Plus, she’s got some serious secrets, and even though Kell knows she isn’t guilty of the bombing, he certainly knows she’s guilty of something- he just has NO idea what. That was my favorite part. Kell is quite the over protective caveman, Mori is a slight martyr… It made for a whirl wind ride of fantastic.
My entire favorite part of the book was the side characters. Nik is going to be MINE!! Since I somehow can’t have Jake or Will… *SIGH*…. I will try really hard for Nik…. I really don’t think I stand a chance with Archer after that ending as well
Robin is my all time favorite character! She has me crying I was laughing so hard. She has my favorite attitude, with a kick ass heroine confindence, and an all time sense of humor. Plus, her “other” is just cool
I REALLLLLLY hope that this is not going to be the end, as I want a WHOLE lot more from this series!!
Ms Sandlin is a FANTASTIC author. She puts the perfect amount of action, romance, mystery and paranormal in all of her books to allow it to be in each category. It’s also well planned. The bad guys are stunningly scary!! I mean seriously, you made your bad guy DO THAT!!!! I am still shivering from that moment. Wow. I was open jawed, shocked! You are a serious mastermind of bad guys! HA! I am not sure how else to tell you that she is a wonderful writer, other than to tell you to get her books! This one especially!
A MAGNIFICENT WOLFISH SCARY 5 PAWS!!!

Author Interview:
First, tell me a little about your book and why you wanted to write this particular story….
I’m a perpetual daydreamer. This idea popped up while I was driving home from the grocery store about five years ago. It was in the back of my head for a few years until one day I just said, “Stop thinking about this thing and write it!”
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know?
That’s a funny question. I did know subconsciously, but it took someone telling me I could. I’ve always loved reading. As a child I remember being assigned to write a book in my first grade class. They meant a children’s book, but I didn’t read those so I wrote the first chapter of a murder mystery novel instead. The teachers loved it, but the kids made fun of me and I was embarrassed about what I had written. It’s sad how you can let reaction from peers stifle you.
In college I studied Mass Communications and ended up as a television journalist. Although I wrote every day, I never considered myself a writer. It’s more about telling a story through video and pictures when you’re in television. I told stories, but not in the classic way I considered a writer would do. When I came up with the idea for Lucid, I told a friend of mine who was a screenwriter. I tried to give the idea to HIM. He looked at me like I had two heads and said, “I love it, but why on earth would I write it? You’re the writer. You write every day for a living!” That’s when it clicked. That’s when I realized I could really do this.
What inspired you to write your first book and what was it?
This is the first piece of fiction I have ever written…well not counting that first grade assignment;) I’m hooked now and am about halfway through my second novel. That one will be very dark and definitely only for adults.
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Every character in Lucid, except the cruel ones, are me at different points in my life. I’ve been bullied. I’ve been put on a pedestal for no good reason. I’ve wanted to be seen. I’ve wanted to disappear. Yeah, the situations might be different, but the book is absolutely based on real feelings.
As for the lucid dreaming? Yes, I have had some experience with that. Can I do it on command? No. Would I love to? Yes. That’s where the idea came from.
How do you chose when/which characters die in your books?
I write a rough outline for where I want a story to go, but once I start writing it can change. I don’t fight the story and let it go where it wants to go. The outline can change as you go along. The story itself kind of dictates that. It becomes a living breathing thing that can make decisions for you.
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
They’re new to me! lol. Every time I think I’ve found someone new, I find out they already have like five books out.
Who do you look up to as a writer?
Born entertainers. I like people who think about their audience and are writing for them. I’m a huge Stephen King fan. My first love was Steinbeck. I do gravitate towards dark stories with a moral. Anyone who writes a story that makes me feel while entertaining me is good in my book.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your book?
I wanted it to be a bit darker, but it’s hard to be published as a first time writer and I had to do what publishers wanted in order to get my foot in the door. The first draft of this book was much more sinister. I love how it turned out though, so I’m happy. Honestly, I guess I’ll just have to wait to see the reviews to answer that question.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
I find the banter between characters very simple, but agonize over everything else.
What book are you reading now? Or what genre? My followers love author’s opinions!
I’m totally digging self-help books for the first time in my life. Any topic. It’s good to look at yourself in the mirror or get help with personal goals now and then. We’re all works in progress.
Who designed the cover? And do you help with them?
I came up with the concept, but the cover art was/is being done by an artist named Ural Akyuz through my publisher. The font and design were done by my best friend, Heather Bragg, who is a very talented graphic designer with Bragg Media.
Did you learn anything from writing your books and what was it?
It’s so hard! Finishing a book makes you feel like the work is over, but everything after is even more work! I must have sent out thousands of queries. The editing process blew me away too. I assumed someone would edit for you. I had no idea that every word and every punctuation mark in that book would be my own. I had edit notes such as, “I hate the first chapter. Change it to show me and not tell me.” You have to have thick skin and be ready to almost write the whole thing over again once you get to editing.
If you could be one of your characters, who would you chose?
It’s a tight race between the three main characters. Most people wouldn’t assume that I most closely identify with Travis, but I do. I was a very awkward youth and always felt out of place because I didn’t like the same things that most girls my age did. I was one of those girls that blossomed overnight at an older age and then felt completely out of place in my body in a whole new way.
Are there any books you think some of us should read, just because?
Books are so personal. Read what speaks to you. Read what makes you happy.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
The idea I have readers is exciting enough! I love you! Please know that I plan to donate a portion of every dollar I make to my favorite anti-bullying organizations. Could you please help me spread the word?

A demon attorney representing the water fae? Stranger things have happened. And things are about to get very, very strange as a bloodthirsty nightmare hunts the city of Harborsmouth.

Five Harborsmouth residents have been killed and every victim has one thing in common–they are fae. Whoever is killing faeries must be stopped, but they only leave one clue behind–a piece of mistletoe floating in a pool of the victim’s blood.
The holidays just got interesting. Too bad this case may drive Ivy mad before the New Year. Heck, she’ll be lucky to survive Christmas.
Blood and Mistletoe is an Ivy Granger series novella.
My Review:
This is a shorter version of an Ivy mystery. It’s no less relevant, as I about had a heart attack in this one! Dude, the bad guy in here is seriously scary! Like, I am thinking about hiding in my closet for a little while when I think about it. *shivers* I actually think this one is even better than the first one. Only because this one was a little more emotional for me. When Ivy realizes that there’s a crazy out and about killing Fae, she is seriously worried for her friends, as almost everyone is a supernatural of some sort, except for Jinx. I was really impressed with how this one played out. Plus, you get to see more of a character that had a very small role in the first book, but now I have a feeling will be a big part of this series in the future.
Jinx also plays a more hands on role, not only as business partner but for field work. I feel really bad when she goes to help Ivy and has to experience first hand some of the horrors of how Ivy’s “gift” works. Marvin also becomes a major player. He’s become the cutest thing ever. Even the Demon Forneus is growing on me, though I am still waiting for Jinx to skewer him! HA! I also think I will forever be staying away from Mistletoe! FOREVER! Jeez. I also think Ivy is growing, not only as a character, but she is embracing her “other” self, and she is trying. She’s also getting a little more brave. I absolutely cannot wait for Ghost Light to come out soon! Everyone needs to be checking this cool new series out! AND…. I seriously hope that the ending… “it” happens! I know that’s so vague, but just read it
5 Emotionally, mistletoe-loving, creeptastic PAWS!
So, I really hope that you guys check this series out! And I will see you guys again-very soon for the the blog tour of Ghost Light!
Enjoy! Happy Reading and later gators!
Dog Tails Review and Spotlight
Hello everyone! A belated Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! Today I have a special little book to show you. I love emails when an author tells me they don’t think I’d read their book, but had to ask. Those are almost ALWAYS the ones I love
No, it isn’t fantasy, or paranormal, or mystery, but it’s just precious!!! Today, I will be giving you a little doggie humor
Let me show you!
Blurb:
Meet Lola, Pudgy, and Jazzy, three canine cuties that will warm your heart and make you laugh.
In Thank Dog It’s Friday, Lola and her human mommy, Trisha trade bodies for a day! Can they cope with their new bodies and prevent Trisha’s husband from throwing her into a mental institution?
Pugnacious introduces Pudgy, a very pugnacious pug. She takes her job in a dog bakery very seriously and when the bakery is robbed, it’s up to her to save the day, the cash, and the canine cookies!
In Tail of Terror, Jazzy does the unthinkable and she runs away. If she can survive the mean streets, there may be a lesson in store for her and she may make a new friend.
Dog Tails is intended for dog lovers everywhere, but even cat lovers will smile and fall in love with Lola, Pudgy, and Jazzy.
My Review:
Ok, fist let me say that I seriously laughed out loud the whole time I read this short book! Seriously, people were looking at me. It was the most entertaining and really cute story! Each short story is from a different dog’s perspective and I will say that the author also NAILED the personalities of each breed! Like seriously good! Ok, so without giving too much away, I am going to try to tell you some of my favorite goodies for each one.
Lola is a hilarious Pekingese, who happens to wake up in her human’s body. This is ridiculously funny!! She is pissed, because where’s her hair, and things stink, and her bed smells funny! HAHAHA However, the sock incident is my abolute favorite moment! That and the neighbor’s ”gift” . You get to see both the dog and human’s perspectives, and you also get to see personalities with each. I seriously wanna be this dog!
Pudgy is the completely embodiment of a Pug. I mean, she snorts, she licks the floor, she is quite active, except when it’s nap time hahahaha She also took her role of human and cookie stash when her owner’s bakery shop is robbed. Not only is she refusing to let that crazy human get away with all her cookies, but she is appalled that her human is crying- which I have found out dogs think is terribly ugly! HAHAHAHA My favorite part, the end, when Pudgy meets her new friend
You will have to read to see if she saves the day
Jazzy is exactly the reason I have ALL big dogs! hahahahaha I mean seriously, she believes she is royalty and should be treated as such. HA!! Her attitude is so much like a Japanese Chin, and they are really pretty, but LAWD that attitude! She’s never last at my house as I live on a farm, with way too much dirt, and cow poo, and mud, and all kinda dirty dogs! HAHAHA However, her story is the most uplifting, because even though she has the whole snobby attitude, she is a good girl, and what she does for that little old lady made her my hero! I was so proud! You will have to find out what happens
The writing is perfect because it’s written like you’re reading a dog’s point of view. I LOVED IT!!! If you are any kind of dog lover, OR even just a little canine humor, pick this one up!!! It’s worth it! I’ll get my dogs on it for you
Like I could give anything less that 5 HILARIOUS, DOGGIE LOVING PAWS!!!
