The temperature is dropping, the holidays are coming and its going to be that special time of year again! You know the time of year when its cold outside and all you want to do is snuggle up and read a good book? Using the dropping temperatures as inspiration a group of Most Fabulous bloggers have gotten together to create a Fire & Ice Blog Hop. Where we are celebrating Fiery Hot Reads for Icy Cold Nights!
During this hop you will see hot hot hot guest posts, read amazing excerpts and interviews and celebrate hot books with mega giveaways at every turn!!! You don’t wanna miss this!
The hop begins January 28th and it runs all the way through March 1st! There will be blog stops every single day (most days more than one) highlighting the books we covet and the authors who write them.
Let me introduce you to the most amazing hostesses of this Blog Hop:
Heidi at Rainy Day Ramblings http://www.rainydayramblings.com
Kimba The Caffeinated Book Reviewer http://www.caffeinatedbookreviewer.com/
Christy at Love of Books http://christysloveofbooks.com/
Veronica at Mostly Reviews http://www.mostlyreviews.blogspot.com
Cambria Hebert http://www.cambriahebert.com
Together all of us are working together to create an event that will keep you warm all winter long!!! Because the hop is so big each hostess has taken a week and booking blogs for that week only.
SOOOOO I totally have the best stop as a TWO-FER!!! My wonderful lovely stalkee, Ms Suzanne Johnson-who also happens to write as Susannah Sandlin- is my lucky pick! I kinda begged her to let me spot light her… And she being so awesome, told me of course! She is completely rockin’!! 🙂 So first, I would like to show you a spotlight of her books!
Writing as Suzanne Johnston, the Sentinels of New Orleans Series:
Writing as Susannah Sandlin, the Penton Legacy Series:
Yep, she is that fantastic… And I will say-she’s one of the few who have ever gotten a 6 PAW review from me! Let me give you some links to check out her books and my reviews! *click on the title, it will take you to the goodreads page*
Sentinels of New Orleans:
Elysian Fields is yet to be released.. I’m sure it’s utterly phenomenal 🙂
Penton Legacy Series:
I have a few other links to show you… I’ve posted about these books for a while now 🙂 HERE is my link talking about Absolution, HERE I talk about redemption, HERE I talk about River Road (*this is my favorite because I AM IN LURRRRVVVEEE with JAKE*)… I had a few characters visit as well as Ms. Suzanne, so you may wanna see what we do when I get to cut lose! LOL 🙂
Now, I would love for you to meet the wonderful HAWT MALE PIECES of the Penton Legacy Series…
Grilled Author: The Vampires Bite Back
The vampires of Penton, Alabama, hidden away in their underground refuge of last resort, Omega, aren’t aware that author Susannah Sandlin has bugged their conference room. After overhearing this conversation, she is vowing to help the evil Vampire Tribunal take them down. (Well, okay, not really.) Listen in on Aidan Murphy, the scathe leader featured in Redemption, who was turned vampire in 1601 Ireland; Mirren Kincaid, whose story is told in Absolution, a former Scottish mercenary turned about the same time, also in Ireland; and Will Ludlam, featured in Omega (coming out Feb. 5), who was turned as a 22-year-old in 1969 New York.
Aidan: Are you ready to have your whole life laid bare in public, Will? Your book’s coming out in just a few days.
Mirren: Yeah, and it sucks having everybody know your secrets, so get ready, Junior. On second thought, you’re an exhibitionist. You’ll probably like it.
Will: How bad can it be? Although now that I think about it, some crazy stuff has happened lately. Susannah won’t tell everything, will she?
Mirren: Every (bleeping) thing. All of it.
Will: Aidan, this is your fault. You brought her in here. You said it would help if she told our story.
Aidan: Yeah, well, I thought she’d tell everybody about how we have this peaceful town here, living with our human familiars, and we’re being attacked by our own Tribunal. I thought she’d tell about vampires starving because of the pandemic vaccine that made human blood poisonous to us. Instead, she digs out all the dirt about my wife and child back in Ireland, and how I held my mate Krys prisoner. Holy hell, she made me sound like a whining, neurotic pansy.
(Mirren clears throat and chuckles) Which is untrue how?
Aidan: (Bleep) you, Mirren. Everybody knows you’re not a black-wearing badass. You’re colorblind so it’s the only color you feel safe in. You wanted people to know that?
Mirren: Hell, no. I can’t believe she told that. (Looks at Will) What are you laughing at, wiseass? Everybody’s gonna see what a baby you turned into when your leg was injured.
Will: I wasn’t a baby because my leg was injured. I was a baby because I had the worst nurse on Earth. In other words, you.
Aidan: And you got to be a real smartass with Randa in Mirren’s book, but Susannah outs you in your book. Now everybody’s gonna know you’re really afraid of her.
Will: Am not.
Mirren: Yes you are. She has bigger nuts than you.
Will: At least I don’t hang around waiting for her to eat a ton of butter and sugar so I can feed from her. You’re turning Glory into a diabeti—hey, hands off!
Aidan: And be thankful neither of you kidnapped your mate and kept her enthralled like you were some kind of sociopathic freakball. I still can’t believe Krys doesn’t stake me in my daysleep.
Will: I’ve tried to talk her into it, but for some reason she luuuuuuuves you.
Mirren: You really are an ass, you know that?
Aidan: What was your favorite scene—one that Susannah got right? I liked when we had to drain all your blood out, Mirren, and chain you to the bed so you wouldn’t kill us.
Mirren: Yeah, well, I liked the part where I shoved your face in the dirt in your greenhouse.
Will: How about when Mirren went on the rampage with his sword and lopped off all those dudes’ heads right outside the theater where “Twilight” was playing. Talk about literary irony.
Mirren: That was a sweet scene.
Aidan: Yeah. But then Susannah followed you home and, well, we all know what happened. You know—the “accident” with Glory.
Mirren (growls): Why the hell did you bring a writer here, anyway?
Aidan: When I met Susannah, she seemed like a nice woman. Who knew she’d turn into this secret-spilling hag?
Mirren: Watch it. She probably has this place bugged.
Will (whispers): That witch. It’s behind the picture frame. Just wait till she shows her face down here again.
Mirren: We’ll be ready.
Aidan: Oh, Susannah? We need to talk to you.
Oops. I’ve been discovered. Have a question for Aidan, Mirren, or Will? DJ, Alex, or Jake? Enter the below by commenting.
