Oooh, you know I don’t do vampers too often, but sometimes they are just too good to pass up, and this happens to be one of those special occasions 🙂 So, now let me show you some goodies!
(A Josie Hawk Companion Novella)
A Vampire with a soul. A Huntress with a knife.
In Nashville, Blood equals Power. Will one taste of Josie Hawk cost Keller everything?
Elle J Rossi
Elle J Rossi grew up in rural Indiana surrounded by great people, a huge family and more animals than she could count. But the sites and sounds of the world beckoned, so she left her small town to escape into a creative world full of music. As a full time singer she was able to lose herself in a thousand different songs in a hundred different places. After meeting the love of her life and settling down, she yearned to find a new and fulfilling creative outlet. Overly fond of the happily ever after, she wondered what it would be like to have her own characters lead her down dark and twisted paths. The very first word on the very first page sealed her fate. She’d found a new love. She’d found her escape. Now along with weaving haunting tales about the journey to love, she’s creating cover art for authors around the world and loving every second of it. For fun, she cranks country music to take her back to her roots, and sings karaoke anytime she gets a chance. Her husband, two children, and a cat that rules the roost keep her company along the way and guarantee she doesn’t get lost in the enchanted forest. She wouldn’t have it any other way.

This is the prequel for the series, where Josie meets Keller, and you see from someone else’s view. I loved it, because you do get to see from Josie’s POV, but you also see Keller’s. It’s nice to get a little from each. I very much want to read the first, big, novel of this series! This one starts out with a bang, and it’s hilarious. There’s action, mystery, steamy hot romance, and some serious ass kicking. Heh, Josie definitely caught Keller’s eye from the get go!
Josie is loyal, and a little closed, and I definitely want to learn more about those reasons. She’s also funny, and holds herself to some extreme expectations. She is a hunter, and she will keep the humans around her safe, no matter what the cost including to her heart. She is also quite fond of Keller’s sister. And that means she has to tolerate Keller. And Keller is relentless!
Keller seemed like a big ole meanie when he first talks. It’s obvious he expects people to kneel when he walks and kiss his feet. And then Josie kicks his ass. It was a great wake up call for him. It also showed that he can adapt to something, or someone, new. And he loves his sister, it’s his probable one weakness. 🙂 I so look forward to seeing where this relationship between these two, and how his sister is going to fit in.
The writing is great, and I know it confuses some people, but I liked the different types of POVs. It’s in first person for Josie, which you are getting her direct feed. And then it’s third person for Keller. It has a more outward appearance in the scenery this way. It’s just different and I love different. I can’t wait, really, to read the books of this new series! It’s bound to be a great one! 5 VAMPER, HUNTRESS ASS KICKING PAWS!!!
