Son of Set

(Descendants of Isis #2)

“. . . the Sons would never just let him go—alive.”

Seth O’Keefe has broken the laws of his god. He never thought he would sacrifice his own future to protect a Daughter of Isis. But when the Sons of Set discovered Natti is the Secret Keeper, he had no choice. Now, Seth and Natti are on the run from his father, who wants nothing more than to see Seth dead. With no allies, Seth turns to the Daughters of Isis for help, hoping they would protect Natti. But when they meet the Daughters, he discovers a secret that puts both their lives in more danger. Low on options, Seth sees only one possibility for survival. He must help Natti solve an ancient puzzle and find the secret name of Ra.

Natara “Natti” Stone is having a hard time swallowing the truth. She can’t believe what she has learned in the past twenty-four hours: Seth is a Son of Set blessed with charm; she is a Daughter of Isis blessed with a sliver of Ma ‘at; the locket her grandmother gave her holds an ancient Egyptian secret linking to Osiris and Isis. That along with being tortured and brutalized by the Sons of Set, she can hardly hold herself together. Thank God for Seth’s touch! That warm, tingling sensation that drowns it all out. Yet her heart struggles to stay focused. She must quickly embrace her destiny before the secret name of Ra falls into the wrong hands.

 My Review

I totally wanna kill Seth’s dad, in a horrible, very mean, absolutely evil way. 🙂 Wow, the sequel is almost better than the first. There’s more action, and more scary moments, and more mysteries, and a little more Romance! And now, we are learning what Natti is and how she is to become that, and what’s Seth’s role to her. It’s definitely a thrill ride!

Natti and Seth are on the run. But the can’t outrun the evilness of Seth’s dad. And they have to figure out all the mysteries of Natti, and the Key, and stay alive! Seth and Natti have fallen for each other, but neither will say it or do anything about it, so it’s definitely a tension filled story as well LOL Natti is also recovering from all that happened because of Seth’s family and it’s taking its tole on her. As well as Seth, who wants to help, but sometimes he goes about it in the wrong ways, but he just doesn’t know other ways.

And then there’s the plot twists. Just when I think I figured something out, WHAM, it’s like a smack in the face with a new part.  And there’s the bad guys, who you will love to hate. I seriously hope some horrible deaths await them soon. The good guys have to win somehow. And then, there’s some new characters that help reveal more of who and what Natti is. Natti is going to have to embrace some heavy duty responsibility is she wants to save her self, Seth, and the rest of the world! And boy oh boy was there some serious sweating on my part. I totally thought there would be more deaths, which they are some and that’s bad enough. Let’s just say you should hold on to your chair while you read this one. 🙂 I am so looking forward to the next book. Hurry please! 🙂 LOL 5 ACTION PACKED PAWS!!

About Daughter of Isis (Book #1)

“Her mouth parted slightly, waiting for Seth to breathe life into her own body, just like in the story. She wanted him to awaken her senses.”

Their worlds collide in California’s high desert.

The last thing Natara “Natti” Stone wants to do is to start anew at Setemple High School. She wished she had never left London. Yet the brutal murder of her maternal grandmother has made her life very complicated. The only clue related to her murder is an ancient, encrypted necklace Natti discovered after her grandmother’s death. And if trying to adjust to American life is not enough, Natti is being stalked by a mysterious, charming high school senior, Seth O’Keefe, who is annoyingly persistent in his attempts at seduction.

Seth O’Keefe is secretly a member of the Sons of Set, an order that worships the Egyptian god of chaos. Seth’s blessing from Set, his “charm,” never failed, except with one person: Natti Stone. Her ability to elude him infatuates and infuriates him, and he becomes obsessed with the chase. But the closer he gets to her, the morehis emotions take a dangerous turn, and he risks breaking one of the most valued covenants of his order. The punishment for which is a fate worse than death.

The adventure this unlikely couple becomes engulfed in could cost them their lives and their souls.

My Review

Ok, so I will admit I’m not much one for Egyptian lore… but I am now! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect going in, and I will warn you that maybe this should be for older teens and adults, because there’s some pretty intense moments. BUT I would totally tell everyone that this is one of the more unique ideas I’ve read about in a while. All the same, being a great paranormal book as well. Plus, Seth is totally freaking HAWT! 🙂 And don’t we all love the bad boy who breaks your heart and then tries to help you piece it back together again 🙂 Yeah, it’s a good one!

So Natti is from London, and moves to the freaking desert. Yes, it sucks, and everything is hot and dry, and based on Egypt and the myths surrounding that. Including her school, which is way weird coming from across the big pond. Her grandmother was murdered, as was her mom earlier in her life, and her dad wants her to start over. So, to the desert they go. She finds new friends, and a smoking hawt but totally off limits boy. 🙂 I like Natti, sometimes her curiosity gets the better of her, but by the end of the book you are rooting for her. And boy, does she have to go through hell, literally, and she still makes it out. I can only say that she is my new hero for what she endured.

Seth is our HAWT piece. You will hate him at first, I did. And then, I was getting to know him and his family and their culture and I started to like him. And by the end, I was hoping he would help save Natti. And Natti just won’t give in to him, which is awesome, so he works overtime to get her attention. I like his changes. I like that Natti opened his eyes, while he opened hers, and they are growing, maybe not as a full couple yet, but I hope it gets there.

I am now intrigued. I am learning so much about Egyptian culture and myths, and I absolutely cannot wait to see what twists the author is going to weave into book two. And heads up, there’s a whole lot of jaw dropping at the end, followed by an almost cliff hanger. 🙂 The writing is fantastic and I look forward to much more! 5 MAGICAL PYRAMID LOVING PAWS!
