Title: Treasures, Demons, and Other Black Magic

Synopsis: I hadn’t set foot in the human world for more than a few hours in over three and a half months. Sure, I was stronger and faster than I’d ever been before, and I had a shiny new sword, but I was seriously chocolate deprived. I don’t recommend quitting cold turkey. And the new sword was a problem — to my mind, anyway. It represented all the expectations of a powerful father and a new otherworldly life. A life that wasn’t the one I’d worked so hard to build. It also represented the responsibility I had to bring my foster sister Sienna to … what? Justice? I didn’t know if that was even possible. What I did know was that Sienna wouldn’t stop, and that I couldn’t just leave everything up to fate and destiny … or maybe I was. Maybe I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing. If you believed in that sort of thing.

I just hoped that before the chaos and mayhem renewed, I’d manage to get my hands on some chocolate. It didn’t even have to be single-origin Madagascar. I was utterly prepared to lower my standards.

This 86,000 word urban fantasy is the third book in the Dowser Series by author Meghan Ciana Doidge

Early Reviews

“Once again, Meghan does a fabulous job of telling a compelling story of love and power, life and death, and the strength and weakness of family. This is a great story, and is high on my list of best loved reads!” – Leiah from So I Read This Book Today

“….like practically nonstop action from the moment you start reading. Our cupcake baking, chocolate craving half witch and her friends not only use magic to do battle, but swords, knives, fists.”

My Review

Ok I gotta start with this… the lack of cupcakes, and the dying characters. Hot damn, this one is the best one yet. AND YOU BROKE MY HEART Ms M!!!! REALLY YOU HAD TO DO THAT!!!! I SOOOOO wanted them, that, it, to happen, and holy hot shit, that oven just blew up, and is never ever gunna work again. I can’t tell the rest of you what I mean, because I can’t. It would ruin the whole damn book and I wouldn’t do that, but just know, after you read this one, that I cried, and I am heart broken, not because of who died, but because who is left, and I feel heart break coming on fast! BEST BOOK OF THE SERIES YET!!!!

Jade has become a scary kick ass totally bad girl 🙂 I LOVE HER!!! She’s training with those scary people her dad hangs with, and has a fledgling from there following her every move, and this adventure is her best yet. She’s grown so much, from the scared girl, who knew nothing of magic, and only lived to bake her cupcakes. And she now knows she’s the only one to stop Sienna, and it’s gunna break her to do it, but it has to be done. And just be prepared to pick your jaw up off the floor and use a screw driver to screw it back in place. 🙂

I am so impressed with this one. I was not expecting all of those things, nor was I expecting it to get so gritty and dark, and a little bloody, woo hoo, 🙂 And I’m sorry Jade is having cupcake withdrawls, hopefully she gets to make up for that with all that’s happened now. I AM DYING for book four. LIKE PLEASE right now! 😉 And maybe I’ll learn to like chocolate because of my broken heart…. or not, cuz it’s gross hahahaha don’t kill me, I like sprinkles 😉

I love Drake too by the way. I am totally thinking he’s hilarious and I want him in the next book 🙂 Kandy the werewolf is my favorite character, and I don’t want to talk about the others because I can’t spoil things about anybody. I really want to though! I have never wanted to spoil things before, but I wanna yell right now, cuz I think I am more heart broken then Jade LOL not possible. but I have a lot of bad words at the tip of my tongue! ok, enough of that. Just know, that this one is AWESOME, FANTASTIC, PHENOMENAL, and you should read it, then tell me so I can yell a lot! Now, 5 TOTALLY WORTHY, JAW DROPPING, VICTORY FLAG WAVING PAWS!! Yep, I’m gunna go cry now hahahaha!

  1. Wow. You really didn’t care for it, huh? ROFLMAO!!!! It was indeed marvelous, wasn’t it????? Jade maturing was, I think, my favorite part. she is by no means “perfect” and she has had to do some hard, hard things, but she is handling it with a degree of grace and maturity that a lot of other books of the genre don’t allow their heroines.
