For as long as she can remember, Seraphina Cross has experienced these visions that made her feel like there was more to life. It wasn’t until one moment, one accident that her life changed forever. She awakens the next day a new person in more ways than one. With no recollection of past night’s events, she’s forced to adapt to certain sensations she is experiencing all while trying to piece together what exactly happened to her that fateful night.
Her strange, hectic life doesn’t seem to make sense until she meets a handsome stranger. Only then does the puzzle finally piece itself together. What she doesn’t expect is the new powers she has developed attracting all kinds of unwanted attention.
Thrown into a world she never truly believed existed she is forced to come to grips with who she is becoming while staying out of trouble long enough to figure out what needs to be done to fulfill her destiny.
I was 18 the first time it happened. I wake up the next day and remember everything about the dream I had just experienced. It’s as if I live one life during the day and once I close my eyes on this world I wake up in another. I’ve gotten used to it over the years; my dreams have actually become something of an escape from my mundane life. During the day I’m a normal, everyday receptionist, but at night I become something else, something important. It’s not always images either. Sometimes my dreams are blank and I’m just experiencing emotions or sensations. Don’t get me wrong- it can be scary sometimes. I never know if it will be a good dream or a bad one. The good ones tend to make me feel empowered and strong, while the bad ones will have me waking up in a pool of my own sweat screaming or even shaking in fear.
So, what if you’re whole life you felt like something was missing. You felt like you weren’t living out your purpose in life and you were missing someone who was so close but still too far away. This one is definitely intriguing, and has a whole new take on the fallen angel status. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a fun ride experiencing this one.
Sera thinks she’s plain, and has not much going for her. She still lives at home, she has a boring job, yet a fun friend. She has a crush on the coffee shop owner that will never amount to anything. And on top of that, she keeps having dreams of this wonderful man who will not only fill her life, but fulfill her destiny in life. She keeps thinking she’s useless. She’s isn’t even really trying. And then she gets a date with that coffee shop owner, and then she has an accident and her life completely changes. Not just for her, but for a few around her. She can’t remember her past, she doesn’t understand the world she’s in, it’s a lot.
Nate’s pretty mad that he’s an obedient angel, and yet gets “demoted” to babysit a human who is boring. Until he gets to know her. He doesn’t understand what’s going on and why he feels connected to her. And there’s a lot going on with trying to help Sera after her accident.
I really don’t want to spoil things, but if you are into a mysterious angel paranormal romance book this one is a must read. It’s intriguing, and it’s written very well. And as you watch Sera unfold into something wonderful, you also get to see Nate change too. I am surprised at the ending, enough that I want to read more and can’t wait for the next book 🙂 4 Angel Wings and Paws LOL
First, tell me a little about your book :)….
Well, I became somewhat obsessed with the idea of a Guardian Angel falling in love with the very person he was supposed to be protecting. I thought about all the things that could go wrong and that’s kind of what Seraphina embodies.
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know?
I’ve always been the type of person better with her hands than with numbers or conversation or even people sometimes. I started out dabbling in art when I realized I’m way better in writing.
What inspired you to write your first book and what was it?
It was actually a dream that set all this in motion. Turns out I have a pretty wild imagination when the sun goes down.
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Experiences are based on my very own imagination, but some of the feelings and excerpts have been taken from my very own journal. I was going through somewhat of a depression and in the beginning of the book so was Sera, I feel like that influenced me a lot.
How do you chose when/which characters die in your books?
I think a writer always knows, some sacrifices must be made to change your main character – sometimes there is no happily ever after
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
I love Michelle Graves books and Alexia Purdy is one of my independent favs
Who do you look up to as a writer?
JK Rowling and George RR Martin. How they could keep their success climbing with each passing book with twice as many details to keep straight! I have will never know but I idolize them.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your book?
I think I might have made it longer, maybe combined book one and two. But now I get to make book two twice as awesome.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Coming up with awesome ideas! There is only so much imagination in this little brain of mine!
What book are you reading now? Or what genre?
I love Dystopians and Paranormal Stories.
Who designed the cover? And do you help with them?
Andy Garcia! At www.AndyG4rcia.com Love her! I actually have an image in my head for all my covers. The picture was actually mine, she just worked her magic on it.
Did you learn anything from writing your books and what was it?
I’m more determined and patient that I ever thought possible.
If you could be one of your characters, who would you chose?
Seraphina! Duh! I just have this vision in my head of her becoming totally bad-ass!
Are there any books you think some of us should read, just because?
Just because? Hmm.. Well, there are a few books that play on the same Fallen Angel theme as mine—my favorites are the Hush Hush Series by Becca Fitzpatrick and Inescapable by Amy Bartol.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Um, Besides that I love you and thanks for reading?! I’d have to leave with a bit of inspirational advice—Follow your dreams—you never know life is a game of chances! Always be a romantic, never settle, and always strive to be better than yesterday.
Thank you so much for hanging out with us today! I hope we can do it again for the next book!
