Whisper by Heather Hildenbrand Blog Tour!

Whisper by Heather Hildenbrand

New Adult Paranormal Fantasy

The Cherokee believe when a person dies, their soul is reborn. Life is repeated. An endless cycle of lessons to be learned, love to be found, destiny to be fulfilled. For the past six months, in every flower, every bird, I’ve imagined my parents, relieved of their human forms.

Now, after five months at the Skye View Wellness Center, it was summer. A time for parties and friends, but that’s the last thing I want to do. So when my best friend Erin convinces me to attend a bonfire at Eagle Point, I can’t handle the crowd full of sympathetic stares or drunken class clowns who would use my tragedy as a way into my heart – or my pants. The solitude of the woods offers an escape, until I stumble upon a boy, unconscious and bleeding, his pockets stuffed not with identification but with poetry illustrating the beauty of dying. I’ve seen enough death. I will not leave this boy’s side.

Even after he wakes, when the only thing he can remember are visions of events that haven’t happened yet…

About the Author:

Author of Across the Galaxy, Whisper, and the Dirty Blood series. I write, read, and fuss at my kids. Oh, and I do laundry, lots of laundry. I’m pretty good at it, too. Sometimes I even read WHILE doing laundry – and fussing at my kids. I’m a multi-tasker.

My Review

My stalkee did really well with this one! I read this book in it’s original version, and now with the re-release I reread it. It’s, as Whisper says in this very book, “Indescribable” because awesome is not enough 🙂 There’s such a wonderful story here. A girl, who is grieving beyond belief at the loss of her parents is struggling to get on with her life, until she actually saves a boy herself. I love her probably because of her love of animals. But She takes it a step above and rescues him then takes him home. LOL

Whisper and Dylan’s relationship and story will take you by surprise and completely captivate you. I think they healed each other. Dylan with his curse, needed to fix his past mistakes, and Whisper with her loss, needed to find a way to put herself back together. This story may be a little darker than some of her others, and though it’s a stand alone, and not a series, it’s still amazing. I can’t say how quite wonderful it really is! And though some people won’t understand, when you read this book, you may not get Whisper if you haven’t ever had that kind of loss in your own life. I have, twice, so I completely get her.

Dylan is quite amazing, as is Whisper, but in a different way. He has a calmness about his that mirrors Whispers anxiety and stress. And even with Treagan, I don’t know how Heather did it, but I ended up actually feeling for the bad guy. Seriously, you did so well with the characters and how well you developed them.

I will say that this is a fantastic book for anyone. Adult and young adult alike. There’s mystery, and romance, and action, and supernatural things. I must say, this is one fantastic book! 5 PAWS!!! PS Heather, you totally made me cry at the dedication and I think of Tyler often just as I think of you 🙂 You are so brave!

  1. Maghon, I totally blubbered right at the beginning too, at the dedication and the poems before I even got into the story. I just loved that this was all about facing the past and being reborn. I loved it! Great review 😀
