Leap Into Indie Giveaway Blog Hop

Hello everyone 🙂 

Today I am very excited to say that I am a part of the LEAP INTO INDIE blog hop… and yes, this means that I WILL BE GIVING A BOOK AWAY 🙂 All at one time now– wooooohooooo!!!! LOL So, this tour is to, as the title says, support indie authors… They sometimes don’t get nearly enought credit, so I thought that being part of this tour would help spread the word. This tour is hosted by Paranormal Wastelands & Can’t Put It Down  so thank you ladies for doing this!!! Now, I’ve decided that–yes I LOVE indie authors… hell, some of my all time favorite books are from those lovely indie authors, so here’s what I’m going to do for a giveaway…

These are my favorites and I am gunna let YOU CHOSE which one you would like.  I have listed below the title and author of each cover, and they each have a link to goodreads so you can read the descriptions and see which order of the series they are in.  Ya know, you don’t want book 3 if you haven’t read book 1.  My reviews are also on the goodreads page for each book too, so if you wanna know what I have to say about these books.  Here’s a hint, they are all 5 PAWS 🙂 I have been reading a lot of indie, but these top my list of greatness.

I got this one from my goodreads group PRN&UF Fanatics… the R2R group is so awesome, so excellent thanks goes to them and to the arthor, as they give the books to us for reviews! Now, for all you romance fans, maybe you won’t be so happy, but for my fellow fantasy friends–HELL YEAH!!! Guns, Fights, Kick @$$ heroes, major creepy bad guys, you never know what’s gunna pop at you from this book, trust me, it’s a great ACTION book. I think I would probably stick to the adult age groups or mature teens as some parts are maybe not suited for the younger people.  But, I liked it (lots!) and I think it would be a good investment, so here ya go:

Now with the reviews up… I gotta tell you how excited I am as this happened all in the last few days 🙂 

I got an email from Ms. Laura Bickle that a fellow awesome blogger… Vampires, Werewolves, and Fairies, Oh My!… had picked me as the winner for her newest book… if ya wanna read the interview go here… and here’s the winner’s post (trust me when I say LOOK AT THE WINNER’S POST!!!) They made my name look wonderful in that background LOL 🙂 and here’s what I won… 

Ms. Bickle signed a copy of this beautiful paperback & wrote nice things & even signed some fun other swag (I’ll try to post pictures of these later) and I think she is fantastic. This is book 2 of the series & I have book one, so YAY!! Now I know you wanna knnow why I keep calling her Ms. Bickle, when the author is Alayna Williams… well, here’s her first books (THAT I FANATICALLY LOOOOOVE!!!!) I fanatically LOVE Sparky-her pet salamander… he’s is just MAGNIFICENT 🙂 So now, I cannot wait to read her new book!!!

Now, today, I got an e-mail from Talk Supe saying I won from this post here…  and here’s what I got…

FINALLY NOW… the give away…. let me start by explaining… I promised some pictures from Mardi Gras so… here ya go… 

so this is a float from ONE of the Parades from Mardi Gras…  On the actual day (we celebrate for almomst a whole week prior to the day) we have so many things, including multiple parades, bands, food… I could go on… but in lieu of celebrating, I have decided to give something away!!! so here’s what I will be giving!

Charlotte Abel is my hero… and a review :)

Do you like my title? Cuz I think Ms. Charlotte Abel let’s me have hero-worship… Let me explain this little tidbit… Back when Enchantment was still new-ish, she put her book up on Goodreads’ PRN&UF Fanatics R2R program (this is a timed session for so many readers to read the book and post reviews in as many places as possible to help authors spread the word about their books) and I was a lucky kid who got picked to be one of the reviewers…. Now, I must say, this book blew the roof off my little world… & I’m a BIG reader but very picky in my genre, so this says alot in my opinion… So, I happened to be the first person to post my review of her book, and she liked it so much, that as a THANK YOU for giving her a nice review, she actually SIGNED A HARD COPY of Enchantment and mailed it to me… I know that some people don’t understand how special this is, but I had it framed in a glass case on my TV because this is my first EVER signed book (I live in a smaller town, and the authors don’t come here too often) and it came straight from her… I did not pay, or ask, or anything, she just did this–if you don’t think that’s the coolest thing ever, click the close page, as I will only describe more of this 🙂  I took pictures of the book in it’s glass case & put pictures of it in  my office because no one is allowed to put their GRIMEY PAWS on that book-EVER!!! 🙂 not even me 🙂 it’s a very special thing for me…

So then, I am all pumped up for this story to continue, because Channie and Josh have stolen my heart, and I serious wanna kill Channie’s parents… like for reals… and then I get an e-mail from Channie’s blog that she would like to give some ARC copies of book 2… so I definately fly over to the forms and fill them out, and totally sign up for that!! Now, I have become Twitter/e-mail friends with Mrs. Charlotte, and she is one of those really sweet, and quite funny people. 🙂 When she asked me advice about the cover for Taken, I was thinking she was nuts to ask me, as I am NOT a good cover critic 🙂 However, she happened to pick one of my FAVORITES, so maybe I’m not so bad after all 🙂 Now, I had her ARC PDF copy of Taken (it was named Empty at the time, but I think it’s EXPERTLY named in the end) and decided that I would write a review and not post it, as everyone posted their reviews all at the same time… gotta keep the words going, ya know 🙂 I also BOUGHT a kindle copy of Taken, because I really believe Mrs. Charlotte deserves the money as I KNOW she worked really hard to make this one happen… Over time, her books at one time were NUMBER 1 & NUMBER 2 on AMAZON… dude that’s so MAGNANIMOUS!! So, I read the book, and HOLY SHIZZNIT… sorry kids, but I so just cursed for reals on my blog… MY NAME IS IN THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was midnight at the time, and I called about 5 people (yes, I got fussed at, and then got congratulated) because I was running around, screaming, jumping up and down… my fur babies (all 3 dogs & 3 of my cats-the other 3 were out and about) are STILL scarred from that time and stay away from me when I get excited with my kindle in my hand! I am pretty sure if they could talk, they would’ve called 911 and sent me to a mental ward 🙂 so without further ado, I am now gunna FINALLY post my review of Taken, but first…. 

Thank You, Mrs. Charlotte Abel!!! I could never say that enough!!! Your kindness should be spread to the world, and your writing talent should also be known!!

If you don’t think this big cat is beautiful, we cannot be friends any longer 🙂 LOL I know some people aren’t big animal people like me, but I am really serious in my animal advocacy’s, I really want these beautiful creatures to keep a place in the world 🙂 I met a real Leopard at a zoo when I was 21, & he fell in love with me (I think he knew I was just cool) but even when we had to leave, he followed me all around his cage with just bars between us… me being silly walked back & forth multiple times to make sure he was following me 🙂  I still have his pictures looking me dead in the eye… my mom tells me I should have been born an animal cuz I relate with them so well & they just love me 🙂 Now anyways 🙂 let’s get on with the show…

A Review for the End

I know my title for today sounds depressing, and in honesty, I’m a little sad, but not in the way you think-& I’m actually pretty extatic! Lemme explain.  I LOVE Samantha Young. I LOVE all her books, but I have been saving “Shades of Blood” for a long while now-I bought it the day it came out, but I was savoring the moments- because IT’S THE END!!! This is the last book of this trilogy & so I’m sad–BUT– I’m extatic cuz IT WAS FANATICALLY SPECTACULAR!!! I can’t use awesome, cuz I use it alot, so I am going with fanatically spectacular 🙂 So here’s what you should know…

Now, for those of you who like a personal note… IT’S MARDI GRAS WEEKEND!!! Um, so I’m sure you’ve heard of it, but NO ONE understands Mardi Gras, until they experience it… everyone thinks you should go in New Orleans-and don’t get me wrong, it’s great, but different- but I still think my home Lafayette, LA is the BEST place for Mardi Gras… I will try to take pictures somehow for me to share on my next post 🙂 I probably will not be back posting till like middle or later of Next week hahahaha 🙂 yeah, we start Thursday & go through Wednesday so trust me, it’s gunna be a blast 😉

1.- What is your Favorite book ever?

hmmmm…. that’s a really hard one, but how about I will say Blue Moon by Laurell K. Hamilton because this was the book that got me reading the fantasy genre, which has become my obsession 🙂 There are so many great books out there that I fanatically LOVE, but this one started it all for me, so I gotta give credit where credit is due 🙂

2.- if you had to choose a character of one book to meet in real life, who would it be?

hell NO!!! I would try to save them all… I would beat them up with my shoe, a rice bag, whatever I could get my hands on, cuz NOBODY TOUCHES MY BOOKS!!! besides, my dogs would never let you in 🙂

4.- If you were a character on a book what type of character would you be?

hmmmm, I would really like to be a werewolf, or maybe some form of shapeshifter

5.- have you found a book that made you cheer for the bad guy to win? wich book was it and why?

Colin, in the Demon Kissed Ivy Taylor series by HM Ward… I still can’t decide if I think Colin is actually a bad guy, but I cheer for him, cuz regardless, I know he loves Ivy in his own way… AND Edward (aka Ted) in the Anita Blake series… I LOVE LOVE LOVE Edward… he’s a killer for hire, a supernatural bounty hunter, with a badge… but I just love him & I secretely wish Anita did too hahahaha I always ALWAYS cheer for Edward! I NEED HIM! hahahaha 

6.- who is the worst character you´ve found while reading a book?

well damn you Karla, asking me all these hard questions!! ummm, so that’s kinda hard, I will say for a bad guy, the worst was in Jennifer Estep’s Elemental Assasin series, Mab Monroe… she was so well written that EVERYONE hates Mab Monroe, even if you didn’t read these books… That’s when you know you are awesome, because people HATE the villain just as passionately as the LOVE the good guy! She makes my skin crawl just thinking about her 😉

AND the Dark Lord, ya know, Lord Voldemort (from Harry Potter incase you’ve lived on another planet)… there is no one more EVIL than him 🙂

7.- Do you choose your books by the cover of the blurb?

hmmmm, I would have to say both… sometimes I fall in love with a cover, and then read it & it’s TOTAL CRAP… sometimes, I read the blurb and love the way it sounds, even with a crappy cover, and love it 🙂 so I can’t say either/or but both… I also go alot by my friends reviews 🙂

8.- Do you have any strange reading habits? if so what are they?

hmmmm, strange reading habits…. lemme think, I don’t think so… I like sit outside with my dogs and read, but most of the time, it’s in bed before sleep. I am REALLY careful not to bend books though… like don’t crack the spine, or bend the pages… I use any kind of paper for bookmarks hahaha like bank reciepts and coupons 🙂 so maybe that’s it 😉

9.- Hardback, Paperback or ebook?

all of the above… I love a hardback, I will always chose this if I can, but a lot of my reading interests of late are indie, so the only way to get my hands on a copy is ebook for my kindle! I like paperbacks just fine too though. as long as I get to read it, I don’t care how it comes 🙂

Now that’s I’ve got these, I have decided-in order to keep my sanity- that I will be reading a review book, then a pleasure book, rotating.  Here’s the reason… I read like 6 review books in a row, without reading the books I REALLY wanted to read-just to read ya know- and then it was making it hard to read the ones I actually HAD TO review… So, I figure if I rotate them, which I have been and it seems to be working, I will be able to not only publish a better reviews for those authors who have asked for it, as well as enjoy the books more… 🙂 so, with that said, that is all. I went reading crazy this weekend :)

I had Monday off work, and it was my weekend off (from my other jobs) so I spent this past (rainy weekend) reading… literally, I read 5 book from Friday night to Monday night. & no, I didn’t stay locked to my phone, kindle, paperback.  I actually did some work around the house too-don’t get me started with all that though, it’ll ruin the post 🙂  so I thought that all are now reviewed and I should tell you all about them!  Let’s get this thing started :)~
